Youth Awards 2026 nominations are now open

At Saxon Weald we are passionate about celebrating the individual endeavours of young people who are positively impacting their communities, helping charities or undertaking exceptional activities in support of others. We also want to provide an opportunity for youths to be recognised for outstanding personal achievements in academia or sport, whilst overcoming challenges. This is why we are proud to be hosting our fifth annual Youth Awards this year.

Voting for our 2026 Youth Awards is now open!

 

The award categories:

 

Young Carer Award

To recognise young people who volunteer in caring activities. This includes those who:

 

  • Are the main carer for an adult or care for or help a relative
  • Regularly support a neighbour or friend in need
  • Volunteer for a local support group, helping children, disadvantaged or older people

 

Local Community Award

To recognise young people who are making a difference to a town, village or local area. This includes those who:

 

  • Support a youth group as a leader or volunteer
  • Have run events for a community
  • Have contributed with their commitment to a nature, history or environmental project

 

Sport and Physical Activity Award

To recognise the success of young people with outstanding improvement or achievement. This includes those who:

 

  • Have shown dedication in an individual or team sport or physical activity
  • Commitment to coaching a youth team or developing them in their activity
  • Have overcome personal barriers to achievement

 

Achievement in Learning Award

To recognise the success or improvement of young people in education, who have shown courage and commitment. This includes those who:

 

  • Have overcome adversity and personal barriers in their learning
  • Participated in additional activities to build skills for a future career
  • Demonstrated an outstanding commitment to a particular educational activity.

 

Young Leader Award

This award is to recognise and celebrate the contribution and leadership a young person has made to a group (this could be a youth group, Scouts, Cubs etc.) This includes those who:

 

  • Have consistently shown commitment to volunteering and supporting a youth group
  • Demonstrates empathy and supports young individuals
  • Inspires and supports others to pursue their own goals
  • Has acted as a positive role model or mentor to their peers or younger children

 

Fundraiser of the Year Award

To recognise young people who have raised money for a particular charity.

 

  • Have shown exceptional dedication and creativity in fundraising for a cause
  • Have demonstrated unique and innovative ways to raise money
  • Have made a positive difference in the lives of others by their efforts
  • Have inspired others to get involved and make a difference

Prizes

 

  • Winners will each receive a £100 voucher of their choice.
  • Runners-up will each receive a £50 voucher of their choice.
  • All winners and runners-up will be invited to an awards ceremony on Thursday 17 December 2026.

 

Closing date for nominations is Saturday 14 November 2026.

This year, we'd also like to recognise and thank the members of our community who take the time to submit Youth Awards nominations.

 

If you nominate a young person and they go on to win an award, we'll donate £100 to a charity of your choice.

 

This prize will be awarded to the person who nominated the winner in each of the six award categories. Please note that this offer applies only to category winners and does not include runners-up.

*Terms and conditions:

  • Nominees do not have to be Saxon Weald or Weald Living customers, but must live within the areas Saxon Weald works (Sussex and Hampshire).
  • The awards are open to any young person in the community, however, nominees must be aged 18 or under.
  • Nominations must be submitted through our Youth Awards Nomination Form by midnight on Saturday 14 November 2026.
  • Nominations must include details of the person making the nomination, the nominee, as well as the reason for the nomination.
  • The person nominating must have the permission of the nominee's parent or guardian to put them forward for an award.
  • The winners will be chosen for each category ahead of the awards ceremony and notified by telephone, email or in writing beforehand.
  • Vouchers and prizes cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative.
  • The charity a nomintor chooses for their donation must be a registered charity.
  • Charity nominations apply to award winners only and does not include runners up.

At Saxon Weald, we love sharing photos and information about our competition winners, however, we are also committed to keeping personal information safe. Therefore, once they have been informed, we will seek written permission from the winners' parents or guardians to share their full name and picture publicly.
